The Yorkshire Wildlife Park 5k
OUR AWARD-WINNING 5K IS BACK!
Successfully crowned the ‘Best National 5k’ at The 2018 Running Awards, our Run For Wildlife 5k will return for its autumn edition on Sunday 14th October.
Main 5k event
Proud to team up with running specialists Curly’s Athletes once again, the main 5k event is suitable for everyone aged 11 and over.
Junior fun run
Additionally, we have a junior fun run on the same day for ages 4 and over. Simply add on a fun runner to your entry. This is around 1km in distance with fun run entry also including entry into the park for the day!
Book your places
Our 2017 and 2018 Spring events sold out months ahead of the event day so avoid disappointment by booking your places today! You can download our sponsorship form by clicking on the link underneath “Key Info” on the right.
Our aims are simple – to have a great fun filled event, contribute to the health and well-being of the community and raise sponsorship and awareness for the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation.
So if you’re feeling inspired to take part then read on and don’t forget you can support the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation by raising sponsorship, buying a bespoke designed t-shirt or simply making a direct donation.
The entry price is just £22 and includes a very special medal, post race cake & water plus it allows you to access the great surrounds of the Wildlife Park for the rest of the day. You can even pop home, get a shower and come back later (but make sure you keep your wristband on!)
With 3.5k of the event taking place on the safari route you’ll see plenty of animals on your way round. The route has been planned in conjunction with the needs of the wildlife so you won’t be running past some animals but you can pop and say hello to them after the run. With the park growing and new animals arriving the course may change but it’s only going to get better!
If you would like to bring along spectators then you can add up to 3 online, plus spectator passes are available to buy on the weekend of the event.
Spectators will have restricted access to the grounds staying off the running course during the event but can see the runners at several key locations and from around 10:00 will then have full access to the Wildlife Park for the rest of the day.
This is offered at a discounted rate. Annual pass holders can attend as spectators for free but if they wish to run the event, they must register in advance at the standard event price.
