18°C Or Below

Climate Change Is Affecting

Polar Bears

As a species listed as vulnerable by the IUCN, we could see our beloved polar bear vanish completely unless we make a big change. The Arctic sea ice polar bears rely on to hunt seals is disappearing before our very eyes due to global climate change caused by the carbon emissions we make as humans every day.

18°C or Below is a campaign created by Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation to make a difference to global climate change, one degree at a time. By encouraging everybody to ensure their home thermostat is set to 18 degrees or below, we can reduce a huge amount of C02 emissions that would otherwise be wasted.

“The only way to save the bears and their sea ice habitats is to control temperature rise through greenhouse gas mitigation.”

WHAT YOU CAN DO

It’s easy! Simply set your thermostat to 18 degrees C or below.

This will

  1. Help reduce CO2 emissions

  2. Save polar bears and their sea ice home

  3. Added bonus: save you money on your bills!
